South Sudan President Salva Kiir on Friday evening sacked finance and interior ministers in the latest mini reshuffle.

Kiir sacked Minister of Finance Athian Ding Athian and replaced him with Agak Achuil Lual, the first undersecretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2018.

Kiir also replaced Paul Mayom Akec as Interior Minister with Mahmoud Solomon Agook in a televised presidential decree announced by the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).

The new finance minister was formerly in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning as undersecretary in charge of financial management matters. The outgoing finance minister Athian became a minister of finance in September 2020. Enditem
