RUSSIA’S LAVROV TO HOLD TALKS WITH AUC CHIEF

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with African Union Commission (AUC) Chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat during the latter’s visit to Moscow.

The sides will discuss the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Russia and the African Union, as well as the strategic partnership between the two in such areas as peacekeeping, security, military training, education, science and technology.

PACE PRESIDENT TO VISIT KAZAKHSTAN

President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Hendrik Daems, will visit Nur Sultan, the seat of the government of Kazakhstan.

DENMARK TO HOLD LOCAL ELECTIONS

Denmark will hold local elections for 98 municipal councils and five regional councils for the 2022-2025 term.

NATO CHIEF TO DISCUSS CURRENT ISSUES WITH EU DEFENSE MINISTERS

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet with EU defense ministers.

At 11:40 GMT, Stoltenberg will do a doorstep interview, broadcast on NATO and the Council of the EU websites.

NATO DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL TO MEET EU ENLARGEMENT COMMISSIONER

NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana will meet with the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

BOLSONARO TO VISIT BAHRAIN

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will arrive with a working visit to Bahrain as part of his week-long Middle Eastern tour.

Bolsonaro is expected to take part in the inauguration of the Brazilian embassy in Manama and meet with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa .

ITALIAN PRESIDENT TO MEET WITH SPANISH PRIME MINISTER

Italian President Sergio Mattarella will come for a two-day visit to Spain, during which he will meet with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Mattarella is also scheduled to be received by the King and Queen of Spain.

PRINCE CHARLES TO VISIT EGYPT, JORDAN

UK Prince Charles will begin his four-day trip to Jordan and Egypt accompanied by his wife, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla.

During his visit to Jordan, Prince Charles and his wife will meet with King Abdullah and Queen Rania to discuss environmental issues, inter-faith dialogue, heritage preservation, support for the youth and female education.

In Egypt, the royal couple will meet President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Grand Imam of Egypt’s al-Azhar. The sides are expected to focus on Egypt’s COP27 commitment following UK’s COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
